The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Undersecretary Epimaco Densing claimed this Tuesday that they are eyeing on the proposal of removing covid19 testing as a travel requirement. It is also affirmed earlier that both, DILG and the Department of Tourism (DOT) are working to boost the Philippine tourism.
Moreover, the proposal also include removal of coronavirus testing, issuance of travel authority and city health certificate. This in turn, will make it easier for locals to tour and enjoy Philippine destinations like Boracay, Palawan, and Siargao.
On a simpler instruction, the tourists or travelers will be instead required to undergo clinical testing at the point of origin and the destination said by the Undersecretary. For instance, if you will be coming from Manila, you will then undergo clinical testing in Manila, as well as on your arrival to a certain province in the Philippines.
It was also reported that Cebu has already implemented this. If you are planning to travel Cebu, you might want to consider reading our article on its updated travel requirements as of February 22, 2021.
